SO/ Maldives

We stayed in a 2 bed over water villa for 4 nights. The villa itself was excellent although the marine life on the reef is a little limited. The NYE gala dinner was an expensive experience but we had a great time. The upgrade to Half Board is badly priced - I don't think we could have got to the same amount on any night in any restaurant so we would go B&B next time. The premium beverage package was OK but would only recommend it if all guests are drinking at lunch and dinner every day. Our butler Viu was excellent! The service from the F&B staff varied from medium / indifferent (a few) to excellent (many others but special mention about Luna). Our review of the food generally is mixed. Hadaba is good if you like Middle Eastern food. Citronelle was a bit hit and miss both for Asian and Western food, although the pastries at breakfast were great! The beach club was decent for relaxed food. Ocean, who run the sea activities, were good - Eddy in particular was a great tour guide. Overall, we would return but perhaps not at the height of the peak season.

This was one of the best resort stays I’ve ever had. The Ocean Overwater Villa at SO/ Maldives is a dream; private, peaceful and unbelievably beautiful. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. We got in earlier than check-in time and the team accommodated us with an early check-in and even before the villa was ready they welcomed us to enjoy the resort facilities, including the beach club which made the arrival experience feel effortless. The staff were consistently respectful, helpful and warm in every interaction. A special thank you to Sue who was outstanding, attentive, proactive and always ready to help with a smile. She made my stay feel seamless. Thank you SO/ Maldives for an unforgettable experience.

We absolutely loved our stay in an ocean view overwater villa. The resort was located an easy 20 min speed boat ride from Male airport with pick-up and drop off seamlessly undertaken. Our GEM was easy and flexible to work with our comms style and looked after us. The rest of the resort’s staff were kind and genuine in their engagement with us. The food was simply the best I have had at any resort and the chef and team should be proud. The view from our villa was gorgeous and we enjoyed cycling around the island. We already want to return and have recommended others to visit SO/.
