From the moment we arrived at The Xara Palace until the moment we left, everything was perfection:a blend of comfort, class, and genuine hospitality. It’s everything one could dream of during a holiday. Our heartfelt thanks go to the wonderful team who made our stay so special: Silvia, Aurora, Lara, Laura, Afzal, and Nilam. Your warmth, kindness, and professionalism turned our visit into something truly memorable. Every detail, every smile, made us feel both welcome and cared for. The experience wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the haute cuisine at de Mondion. Each dish was exceptional, creative, refined, and every bit as memorable as the stay itself. When we return to Malta, there’s no doubt in our minds: we will once again stay at The Xara Palace.

If you’re coming to Malta and look for an amazing five star hotel experience in an amazing environment with an amazing view amazing hospitality amazing food in an amazing location the Xara Palace in Mdina is the perfect place for you! I had the pleasure to organize a group travel for a long weekend to stay at Xara Palace. The joy started long before the stay. Mark Vella, the general manager, and his left and right hand Silvia has been extremely helpful with tips and recommendations as well as preparations for dinner, airport pick ups and other transports so that we could arrive in confidence that our group trip will become a success. Staying in Mdina at the Xara Palace is a very special thing the first place. Mdina is called the quiet city because there is no regular car traffic allowed. So if you walked on the medieval streets that have been the backdrop to Game of Thrones and other movies, you feel transported back in time. It really is an otherworldly experience. Back to our hotel experience: None of our 11 guests had any kind had any kind of issue at any point of our stay! Zero, Nil, nothing. That normally never happens, but it demonstrates the level of perfection you will get in this hotel. Whether it is the reception team with Matthias (living library), Silvia (organization godess), Sara or Aurora, or the breakfast team with its ever smiling and customer oriented Lindsay, or the amazing house keeping that even manage details like your wildly distributed charging cables that magically all find themselves orderly collected and neatly rolled up next to your charger, it just is a perfect stay. In addition to that, the location of the hotel is just amazing. It basically is a part of the outer wall of Mdina, so if you have any room to the outside of the city, you will enjoy a panoramic view you don’t want to leave. Xara Palace now also has a Michelin star for its Mondion restaurant, so fans of fine dining will enter the next step closer to heaven. But the second restaurant “Trattoria” just left of the entrance is highly recommended. You get five star quality of food and service at a three star price level. Just amazing! So do we recommend to stay here? No question about it. The only question is why would you stay somewhere else?!
