Amazing stay overall, which makes the mediocre reviews rather puzzling. I suspect many guests did not access the Club Lounge. At most Ritz-Carlton hotels, the lounge is really part of the experience, and the stay feels incomplete without it.
The Club Lounge team were outstanding, with services that clearly differentiates this lounge from its competitors. Special thanks to Krystal, Rudy and the rest of the staff for making our stay felt truly special. They were consistently attentive, proactively anticipating our needs and making personalized arrangements. And they are the main reason we will choose this property again over others in Bangkok.
The lounge offer a beautiful view of Lumphini Park with the Siam Square city skyline as the backdrop. Even on a weekend evening, it felt calm and refine. There were five daily sessions like most Ritz lounges, but only the evening hours were worthwhile to return for. Kids were allowed till 7pm. The food was not the very best, but clearly above average lounge standards, and they were happy to accommodate special requests.
Our room was spotless, spacious and tastefully designed. We loved the non-slip marble bathroom, the full-height windows overlooking Lumphini Park, the softest Frette robes, Gessi fittings, Diptyque toiletries, Dyson hair dryer, etc. Everything was thoughtfully crafted. Sitting by the massive window and enjoying the park view was a daily pleasure.
We stayed with our daughter and she absolutely loved Ritz Kids. She wanted to visit Ritz Kids first thing every morning, and even when there were only 20 minutes left before closing. It may look like a normal playroom to parents, but I guess the staff are doing something right.
Even after a year, the hotel feels new and luxurious everywhere, from the entrance and lobby to the sauna, restaurants and lounges. The pool is decent, though not a major highlight, unlike many Bangkok hotels, which is fine for a city stay.
In addition, the free valet parking offered was great. And with Bangkok terrible traffic, the direct access to the huge One Bangkok mall just gave us great convenience.
The only downside was Lily’s breakfast on weekends. Most days the service was excellent, but on Sunday, our table was cleared while our drinks were still full and we had only stepped away to get ice cream with my kid. We were barely 30mins into our breakfast in the newly opened section. There was no apology and the staff seemed confused. Lily’s was clearly overbooked on weekends. However, the food (with the ala carte menu) and ambience are still among the best hotel breakfast offerings.
Overall, aside from the handful of ultra luxury hotels in Bangkok (that are priced higher), for the next tier of premium luxury, we will definitely recommend Ritz Carlton.
