Amor Arenal Adults Friendly

My husband and I had an amazing stay at Amor Arenal! The property is incredibly gorgeous, and each casita is private and beautifully landscaped. The check in experience was great and it was nice to have the option for the golf carts. We didn't need them because our casita was centrally located, but it would have been useful for those located further down the hill. Also loved that umbrellas were available everywhere since the ran came on frequently. We unfortunately had cold, cloudy weather for our whole trip, but were still able to enjoy the swim up bar which was heated to 98 degrees, and our private pool which was probably around 100 degrees. I can’t imagine how even better our stay would have been if it had been warm and sunny! We didn’t get to see the volcano once when we were there, but the shower in the casita was still life changing. So not skip this hotel! We did the gastronomic experience one night but I think we actually preferred the regular hotel dinner over that experience (we got the tomahawk and it was so good)

My husband and I stayed at Amor Arenal for 2 nights. It was truly a luxurious resort tucked away in the rainforest. The staff were all so welcoming and kind, they really take care of you for every request. Things we really enjoyed - the private hot tub, secluded view of the rainforest and volcano, dual rainforest showers overlooking the actual rainforest, massage in the rainforest, comfy bathrobes and slippers, delicious breakfast (smothered egg was so flavourful). We went to celebrate my birthday and we were surprised by a lovely cake and hand drawn card. We went on a guided hike that was quite affordable ($12USD pp) and saw many animals with a knowledgeable guide. We saw a sloth on our last day. 😊 I will say if you’re looking for a private, quiet getaway for a couple, this is the best of the best. But if you want a resort with more “evening activities” then elsewhere may be more appropriate.

We stayed at Amor Arenal for 5 nights for our honeymoon, and it was far and away the highlight of our honeymoon. Our room was absolutely stunning, and waking up each morning in such a gorgeous space with such a stunning view was truly an incredible experience. The outdoor private patio truly is private; despite the bungalows being close together, they’re arranged so that each patio is totally isolated and private, and you really feel like you’re alone in the jungle. Sitting in the plunge pool/hot tub with a glass of wine, looking up at the volcano with your partner is one of the most calming and romantic experiences possible. We felt so welcomed and cared for by the staff, and almost every day we received a complimentary platter of treats as a gift for our honeymoon. The food at Amor was also all fantastic, from the traditional Costa Rican fare to all the international options, everything was delicious. Eating the included breakfast with a view of the volcano was such a joy each day. We had a our pick from the full breakfast menu, and always got incredible pastries, fruit and coffee in addition to our breakfast entree. The chocolate croissants are some of the best we’ve ever had. The entire staff at Amor was so friendly and easy to talk to, and so willing and ready to share information about the history and culture of the area. The bartenders were also amazing, with one of them giving us a fantastic and informative mixology class, and the other making sure we tried a traditional guaro sour. All the grounds of the hotel are beautiful and relaxing, and we were constantly surrounded by nature. All of the pools are gorgeous, and they’re all heated, and we never had to worry about the water being too cold. This is the nicest, most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed at, and we truly hope we can stay again on an anniversary in the future.
