The Lana – Dorchester Collection

We spent a week at The Lana, and somewhere along the stay we realized that what makes this hotel special is not one big thing, but hundreds of small ones done right — every single day. Yes, the hotel is beautiful, elegant and incredibly comfortable. The design feels refined yet calm, with a sense of space and light that immediately allows you to slow down. Every area — from the rooms to the public spaces — is thoughtfully created, combining modern luxury with warmth rather than formality. The rooms are exceptionally comfortable, perfectly equipped and designed in a way that makes you want to spend time in them, not just sleep. The facilities, amenities and overall atmosphere reflect a level of attention to detail that is increasingly rare, where everything simply works exactly as it should. But the real luxury here is the atmosphere created by the people. Every member of the staff we met was warm, natural and genuinely enjoyable to interact with. The doormen greeted us daily with humor and kindness, and after a few days returning to the hotel felt less like arriving somewhere and more like coming back to familiar faces. We traveled as a family with a child, and the team made everything feel easy. There was always attentiveness without formality, care without effort, and a sense that people truly notice guests rather than simply serve them. Housekeeping was outstanding — quiet, precise and somehow always perfectly timed. The room was flawless every day, to the point where you stop thinking about it entirely, which is probably the highest compliment. A very special thank you to the Front Office Manager, who helped us during a rather tense situation with calm professionalism and a wonderfully delicate sense of humor. It was exactly the kind of human moment that stays with you long after checkout. Our family will always remember this week at The Lana with warmth and gratitude. We truly hope life brings us back here one day.

Our family had dinner at The Verandah on the 23/01/2026 - Lana and it was truly a 10/10 experience. Every dish we ordered was delicious, especially the pumpkin soup highly recommend! We’d also like to thank the lovely team member who took such great care of us (sorry we didn’t catch his name), and Manager Miles for his exceptional hospitality. Even though we weren’t staying at the hotel, he kindly took the time after our dinner to show us around and explain the facilities and rooftop bars. Service like this really makes a place memorable and one of the highlights of our family trip. We felt genuinely welcomed and would absolutely return.

It seems my phone may have been pressed accidentally while in my pocket, leading to an incorrect 1-star rating. Please be assured that this was a complete error. In fact, our stay at The Lana was truly exceptional. We had a wonderful time with our family, thanks to the impeccable room condition, the breathtaking views, and above all, the kindness of your staff.
