We stayed at The Grand in Amsterdam last week, two adults and our 12-year-old daughter, and had such a lovely experience. Our room was the Rembrandt van Rijn Suite and it was honestly perfect when travelling with a child. What I loved most was that everyone had their own space and a bit of privacy, which you don’t often get in hotel family rooms. The hotel itself is beautiful and the location is fantastic, but what really stood out was the team. Everyone we met was warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful. A special thank you to Stefan and his team, especially Nicky. His personal touch really makes you feel like you are the most important guest. Honestly, everyone we came across made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. While we didn’t have dinner at the hotel, we did have breakfast the next morning and it was next level. Literally anything you could want was available. Fresh breads, pastries, eggs made to order, fruit, waffles… everything, and they cater for any diet or preference. They clearly take breakfast seriously. You can tell there’s a real pastry team behind it because so much of it is freshly baked, and the croissants and pastries alone are worth getting out of bed for... The only downside was that we couldn’t stay longer. If you’re visiting Amsterdam and want a hotel that feels a little bit special, a little bit magical, and delivers that real “wow” feeling, you won’t be disappointed with The Grand and their amazing team!
