WOW! We spent five unforgettable nights at Makanda by the Sea Luxury Boutique Resort for our honeymoon, and it was nothing short of spectacular. We were surrounded by breathtaking beauty—lush jungle, stunning ocean views, and a sense of peace and privacy that felt incredibly romantic. The staff were gracious, warm, and ever helpful, genuinely eager to help at every turn. The resort itself is immaculate—spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. You can tell that every last detail was carefully considered by someone who truly understands luxury travel. As a designer myself, I could tell these designers anticipated what guests might want or need and seamlessly built it into the experience—from the layout and privacy to the comfort and atmosphere. Every corner reflects intentional design and attention to detail The food was exceptional—fresh, creative, and consistently delicious. We couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful or memorable place to begin our marriage—and we’re already dreaming of returning.

An absolutely wonderful experience, from incredibly friendly staff (Bayron etc) to well designed rooms and grounds that are a delight. The rooms are just perfect with the luxurious amenities that you want to be pampered. The grounds are also amazing with a few buildings spread privately around the property. Staff will take you down to the beach in the golf cart on a steep and narrow road (you feel safe and it's exhilarating). The good is as fresh as you can imagine from the perfect fruits and seafood to the creative touches along the way. The beach is in a perfect, quiet cove with a small bar for drinks, lounge chairs and clear waters in the back of the peninsula. Highly recommended for couples. Pura Vida!

Makanda by the Sea is truly a paradise. The property is absolutely beautiful and incredibly scenic, with stunning views. The food was phenomenal throughout our stay. Breakfast was hands down our favorite part and something we looked forward to every morning. That said, Arbol was some of the best dining we've ever experienced; every dish was exceptional. What really made our stay unforgettable was the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and they went above and beyond to make our experience so special. We couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon and can't wait to return!
