Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Rainforest Beach and Golf Resort

Our holiday stay at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar in Puerto Rico was absolutely amazing from start to finish. From the moment we arrived on the property, we were struck by how beautifully manicured and well maintained the grounds were. The welcome champagne toast while we waited to check in immediately set the tone for what turned out to be a truly special stay. Our room was located on the third floor and was spotless, well decorated, and extremely comfortable. The highlight of the room was the shower, which was fantastic, and the breathtaking view overlooking Turtle Cove with a panoramic view of the ocean. Waking up to that view each morning was unforgettable. Our first dinner at the resort was wonderful, and the staff consistently went above and beyond at every turn. One moment that truly stood out was when we had a rainforest bike tour scheduled. Because our five-year-old son is not yet proficient on a two-wheel bike and still needs training wheels, we assumed we might have to miss out. Instead, the staff worked their magic. With special help from Bianca, they arranged a limo golf cart and provided the tour via golf cart, which was not their standard practice. This level of accommodation and care perfectly captures the spirit of this resort. During our stay, we enjoyed beautiful days on the beach, relaxing under umbrellas with cocktails, watching my husband swim in the ocean, and building sandcastles with our son. We also reserved a poolside cabana one afternoon, which was another highlight. Having lunch and cocktails delivered directly to the cabana while being steps away from a phenomenal waterslide made for such a fun and relaxing experience. Seeing my son go down the waterslide and swim right back to me was one of those moments you never forget as a parent. The only minor note I would mention is not really a criticism of the resort itself. There are small black birds that tend to be very assertive in the outdoor dining areas, which made some outdoor meals a bit uncomfortable for me personally, as I have a bird phobia. That said, this did not have any meaningful impact on the overall experience for my husband, my son, or the trip as a whole. From start to finish, the hospitality was exceptional. The staff was consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our stay special. This is a very family-oriented resort, and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling with children. We left feeling relaxed, cared for, and already talking about when we can return.
