We had an amazing stay at ROKU Kyoto. Check-in was smooth and the concierge team was super helpful with recommendations and even arranged our luggage forwarding. The staff were all incredibly kind and made our honeymoon feel special with edible treats in the room and a spa kit after our couples massage. The room was spotless with a great layout, and the resort itself is very relaxing — the heated pool, sauna, and steam room were perfect after long days exploring. The gym was clean but could use a few more machines. Breakfast and dinner were both great, though the menu got a bit repetitive after a few days. We later found some nice local restaurants within walking distance too. Overall, a beautiful and peaceful resort — we’d definitely come back!

We stayed here for our first year wedding anniversary and resort stay in Japan. Staff were pleasant and super attentive. We felt really taken care of and would stay here again. We stayed in a private onsen room with a private garden and having that was so nice to decompress with the nights getting colder. We stayed early December and the morning we checked out, it was snowing and looked very pretty from our room. Breakfast was included with our booking and I thought that was just the buffet but it included a full ordered meal per person which was nice. The buffet spread was super delicious and had a good variety of sweet and savory options. We had dinner here both nights we stayed as well. The first night we got the winter course meal and the portions were perfect size, we finished and were comfortably full. The second night, we both ordered a separate entree and dessert each and we left super full. I had the risotto and my husband had the burger. For dessert, we had the cake of the day (which came with some fruit and a scoop of ice cream) and the winter parfait. Everything was tasty and I definitely recommend the curated meals!! Location was nice. Lots of nice vistas around being high up in the mountains. We walked to the golden pagoda during the day and were advised to not roam around at night because of recent bear sightings and that was fine since we planned to be using the onsen in the evenings. They had a heated pool we didn’t use but will next time for sure. 100/10 no notes.

We had a truly wonderful stay here and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, peace, and great service. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and exceptionally comfortable. A special thank you goes to Nikita, who made our stay extra special. He was always friendly, attentive, and eager to help with any questions we had. His warm hospitality, especially during breakfast, really stood out and made us feel welcome. Although the property is located a bit outside the city center, we actually appreciated that. The peaceful surroundings, right next to a quiet forest, made it the ideal retreat from the bustle of the city. Overall, everything — from the comfort of the rooms to the attentive service and tranquil location — made this a memorable experience.
