Our recent stay at the Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto was truly unforgettable. We were welcomed with warmth, thoughtfulness, and care that exceeded all expectations. The staff consistently went above and beyond in every interaction, gently reminding us to take an umbrella when rain was expected, escorting us through the hotel with grace; and checking in daily to ensure we were comfortable and happy. I enjoyed chatting with the staff, (a special mention for Rosario). Every member of the team exuded genuine kindness and professionalism, and their constant presence, always accompanied by a respectful bow and a warm smile, made us feel not just like guests, but truly appreciated and cared for. We were touched by the many thoughtful gestures throughout our stay. One evening, we returned to find a small package of beautifully presented sweets in our room, along with a heartfelt handwritten message from Johan, a hospitality intern from Switzerland, thanking us for choosing to stay with them. It’s rare to see such personal touches, and it made us feel incredibly appreciated. We were also generously upgraded to one of their stunning suites, which was an absolute dream. The suite, like the rest of the hotel, was designed with exquisite taste, blending modern luxury with deep respect for Japanese tradition. We were especially impressed by the use of authentic and sustainable design elements throughout the room. The decor beautifully showcases Japan’s rich cultural heritage, and its location is perfect for viewing and visiting the city. I also really loved the thoughtful repurposing of materials like kimono obi (belts), which were transformed into elegant pouches for the coffee and keepsakes for guests. It’s these kinds of details that speak volumes about the hotel’s commitment to preserving culture and minimizing waste. Everything about our stay reflected the values of hospitality. The attention to detail, the dedication to guest comfort, and the deep respect for tradition created an atmosphere of peace, beauty, and sincere connection. To everyone at the Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto: thank you for making our stay so meaningful and memorable. Your dedication to excellence, culture, and care is truly inspiring, so we leave with full hearts and deep gratitude, hoping to return again next year to see the cherry blossom trees!
