Thompson Madrid, Part of Hyatt

Staff consistently went above and beyond to make our stay as special as possible. Rayan, one of the bell boys, walked with us for several blocks to hail us a taxi to ensure we were on time for our reservation. Hotel itself is super nice, clean, and artsy. Food and drinks were amazing, too. The lobby bar makes a mean espresso martini!

We had a wonderful stay at the Thompson Madrid. We initially made a mistake when booking a two twin room, thinking the beds were full size. Once we realized the issue, it was clear that our family of three would not fit comfortably. German was absolutely exceptional. From the moment the issue came up, he took full ownership and handled everything with professionalism, warmth, and genuine care. He not only found us a room where we could comfortably fit without charging us anything extra, but he also went a step further and proactively contacted the next hotel on our itinerary to help ensure we would not face the same issue again. That kind of foresight and advocacy for guests is rare and truly memorable. The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms are elegant and thoughtfully designed, with luxurious beds and linens that are incredibly comfortable. The shower water pressure was excellent, which is one of those small but important details that makes a stay feel elevated. The rooftop offers wonderful views, and the location is perfect for exploring old Madrid on foot. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, made even better by outstanding service. We would absolutely stay here again and cannot thank German enough for going above and beyond.

Overall, an excellent stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and modern, the location is great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. This is one of the better Thompson hotels I’ve stayed at. A few areas for improvement: On the day of arrival, we were told our room would be available after 3 (or 4) pm, but we ended up waiting about 45 minutes past that time in the lobby before the room was ready. Breakfast was quite busy, and service was slower than expected. The menu looked promising, but the food was meh, and one of the included items never arrived. A more streamlined setup, such as a buffet, could improve the experience. The hotel is located in a very busy area with heavy foot traffic. If you prefer to stay quieter, more exclusive neighborhoods, this may be something to consider when booking. Overall, still a strong stay, and I would recommend it with these points in mind.
