The Cadier Bar
The Cadier Bar welcomes everyone—Stockholm locals and hotel guests alike. This stunning venue is a favorite for after-work drinks, casual meetings, and lively evenings filled with Champagne and great conversation. Feeling hungry? Explore our bar menu, or enjoy à la carte breakfast, lunch, and our beloved afternoon tea—perfect for those who’d rather not leave the comfort of our plush sofas. Named after Régis Cadier, the hotel’s founder and a renowned French chef, the bar carries on his legacy of elegance and hospitality. Dress code: Smart casual.
The Veranda
The Veranda has been a cherished gathering spot for over a century. Originally built as summer verandas more than 100 years ago, today the Veranda restaurant remains a favorite for both locals and visitors. Join us for a delightful lunch or dinner with sweeping views of the waterfront and Royal Palace, or reserve a table for our renowned buffets and classic Swedish smörgåsbord—perfectly paired with Grand Aquavit 1874, the hotel’s signature snaps. Don’t forget to explore our carefully curated wine list. Dress code: Smart casual. Please note: Shorts are not permitted after 6 PM.
Mathias Dahlgren
Dining at Mathias Dahlgren is a culinary experience unlike any other—where refined simplicity meets relaxed comfort in a warm and welcoming setting. Rooted in a distinctly Swedish identity and shaped by regional traditions, my cuisine embraces both local and global influences. At its core is a dedication to natural ingredients and pure flavors—what I call the natural cuisine.
The Champagne Bar
To love Champagne is to embrace the joy of life. Now, Champagne enthusiasts have their very own destination at the Grand Hôtel. Just by the entrance to the Cadier Bar, next to the lobby, you’ll find our elegantly designed Champagne Bar—offering an exceptional selection from the finest Champagne houses and vintages, available by the glass. Whether you’re ending the day with a 2015 Ruinart vintage or beginning your evening with a glass of 2012 Dom Pérignon, one thing is certain: happiness is a glass of truly exceptional bubbly.
Grand Café
Nestled in one of the charming buildings along the quay, just in front of the hotel, you’ll find the Grand Café. Here, you can enjoy freshly brewed coffee, flavorful salads and sandwiches from our kitchen, and irresistible pastries from our patisserie. Take a seat in the sun and soak in the stunning views of the waterfront, passing boats, and the Royal Palace. If you have any allergies, please don’t hesitate to ask about the ingredients. Please note: The Grand Café is cash-free.

How we choose
Every hotel on this list is cross-checked across Google, Booking.com, Tripadvisor, Agoda and Hotels.com — plus first-hand traveler accounts on Reddit, Instagram, and TikTok. We screen aggressively for fake or incentivised reviews and weight only verified, recent, substantive guest feedback. We accept no paid placements and no sponsored reviews. When affiliate links earn a small commission, we disclose it; it never influences which hotels appear here.
